I was born in Johannesburg , South Africa and grew up in a time of creativity, tension and change – it brought forth in me an artist’s heart – a passionate dancer in the early years with a passion for the arts in all its forms.
I thrived under art instruction at Damelin College and on leaving school, embarked on a Theatre technology diploma at Natal Tech in 1992 in order to pursue my artistic dream. After completing my diploma I relocated to Cape Town and began working for a set building company – it was a stimulating, highly creative environment and fuelled my interest in film making. I gained invaluable experience during that period learning the intricacies of set painting/prop building and was fortunate to work with scenic artists from around the world. This led me to a freelance career for the next 17 years, working on both international feature films and television commercials.
In 2001 I took the plunge and began painting full time and decided on creating my own work. I supply galleries in Europe and Africa. I work mostly on private commissions and occasionally group exhibitions too, but orders through art directors, interior designers and property developers keep me busy as well as my loyal client base.
